Dog of the Month

Every few weeks we will be featuring a dog currently in foster care and looking for a forever home as our Dog of the Month. This month that dog is Lily

Lily is a beautiful young girl who came to the rescue at the end of last year with a litter of puppies. Of course, they all found homes easily, and poor Lily has been waiting ever since to find a home who will love her for life.

Lily is a Jack Russell Terrier x Staffordshire Bull Terrier and we believe it is this that deters people from enquiring further about her. This is such a shame, because if they got to know her they would discover that she is an immensely friendly girl, who becomes totally devoted to her human companions and very well behaved.

She is good with smaller dogs, although a little fearful of larger ones which she shows in barking or growling, so a suitable home would be where Lily is the only dog, or with one calm,  small playmate.

Lily is nicely behaved with children and we would consider a home with children over 5 years. She is not suitable for a home with cats.

This playful and active girl loves a game of football and although she needs some work on her lead walking as she is quite strong, this would be easily corrected with consistency.

Lily does have some separation issues, and we are looking for a home where someone is at home most of the day to help her learn to cope with being left slowly. she would especially love a rural home or one with a good sized garden where she can have lots of open space to run and play.

Lily is fully vaccinated and spaying is being arranged as she is at the best time for this to be done.

She is currently being fostered in Northampton.
